I commissioned this pair of MTO Decon Chelsea boots a few weeks ago and after exchanging emails with Norman we spoke directly to discuss the patina, the soles and the fit and our common passion for shoes. I own two other pairs from Norman Vilalta after having tried his test shoes during the 2017 London Super Trunk. I knew that a 9.5 UK would be a perfect fit for me.

Fit

Undoing the Derby laces and slipping your foot in comfortably thanks to the side elastics is a breeze and I did hear the "suapss" of a well fitting shoe. As Norman posts on his website:

They have a fitted entrance but it's very flexible, you will hear the "suapss" sound when entering inside the shoes as you would hear in a bespoke shoe. That translates into comfort.

You cannot go wrong with NV shoes, once you know your size you should be able to get a good fit in most lasts.

I made our RTW lasts with the idea of bringing the advantages of a bespoke fitting to our RTW line of shoes. - Norman Vilalta
